The Kuala Bubon House was built by YAKKUM Emergency Unit (YEU) with reinforced concrete construction and brick walls equipped with clean water facilities obtained from 128 m deep wells and environmentally friendly communal septic tanks. The arrangement that lined up perpendicular to the coastline allows adequate visibility so that residents can save themselves in the event of a tsunami. The total number of houses built is 118 houses. This house design is part of the concept of sustainable, participatory village spatial planning and dimension of disaster risk reduction where previously no NGO or government believed that YEU could build a house on the water for refugees in Kuala Bubon Village.
